Events of Fall 2016 and Spring 2017!!

The new event series for the AIA has been set for the fall of 2016 and the spring of 2017...and it's full of fun and fascinating actvities! Our kickoff event will be held on Sunday, September 18th at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 121 North Pleasant St. The event is a Irish group dancing session, called a "Céilí." The local group "Le Chéile" will provide the music with songs from musician and playwright Rosemary Caine.

The series will continue with an Irish language workshop; anecdotes presented by local singer/storyteller Don Gallagher about growing up Irish in Springfield; a talk by Rabbi Ben Weiner about being Jewish in Ireland; a lecture about US/Irish immigration by our own Íde O'Carroll; and an interpretive presentation on the works for James Joyce by "The Here Comes Evrybody Players."
