This year, the AIA Directors made the decision to change the focus of the annual Margaret Maher Award. Instead of sponsoring an essay competition, we will be presenting an award to a community member for achievement in the promotion of Irish culture, arts, heritage and history.
And so, for our next event of this series, to be held via Zoom on October 18th at 2 pm, we will be presenting Rosemary Caine with the first annual Margaret Maher Award. Rosie's long and illustrious professional career has been devoted to music and theater. She has graciously agreed to accept the award.
Prior to that meeting, AIA members will receive an e-mail link to the Zoom session. Members of the public are also welcome to attend. They need simply request the link by e-mailing to amherstirishassociation@gmail.com at least 24 hours prior to the event.
